i have a 2002 protege5 and need to know if anyone has changed an alternator on one and if so how is it done i'm haveing trouble figuring out how to get it out of the car i have it all unbolted the wires off but don't know what else to remove to get it out

 

there should be 3 or 4 bolts im not quite sure on my focus it was only 3 get a mirror and look under the alternator for another bolt thats most likely your problem

 

2001 protege alternator has 3 bolts to remove. Access to remove alt is from UNDER the car. Remove battery cables before starting this job . Two hour job the first time.
