Default Headlights wont turn off. Help would be appreciated

Hey guys,

Here's the situation. I 1999 mazda protege battery was stolen so we replaced the battery along with the cables for the post and now the headlights will not turn off and the car still not crank there's no clicking so Headlights wont turn off. there is no clicking sound the battery is brand new relay have been replaced. the interior lights will not to cut on the radio when I cut on nor do the power windows power locks work. Any suggestions?

Did the thieves cause any damage beyond the battery and the cables? They may have torn out some wires going into the power distribution box.

We havent noticed any damage yet. But this just happened less than 24 hours ago.

Also the connection to the starter appears to be good

I'd look at fuses, and fuseable link. Is the headlight switch on auto?

No, its shut off. Ive tested all the fuses. Repkaced ign key relay and the main relay. I also replaced the main fuse. Im not dure where or what the fuseable link

Well, look at the battery + cable to the starter, is there a fuseable link? You should see a fat place in the cable, I am NOT famialr with your vehicle, but I have not seen anything in the past 40 years that didn"t have one.

If you have a voltmeter, and some help. Make sure the shifter is in park or neutral, check for battery voltage at the starter when the key switch is set to start, you will need help.

Well know I realize that the main fuse keeps getting blown ive reolaced it about 3 times

The main fuse? Is there no other? If not what is the main fuse powering?

Anyone know where the startervis located on the 1999 mazda protege
