Headlight replacement
Feel stupid but I can't get the wire harness off the healight [low beam] bulb on my '03 DX. I read the manual and it looks like it's supposed to just pull off. I don't want to break something by putting anymore pressure on it.Do I just need to pull harder?! Thanks

RE: Headlight replacement
Protege's have a history of melting the plug that the light plugs into. I've had 6 and they have all done this. The easiest way to get it off is to pull the lamp (bulb)out of the headlight casing. Then using a flathead screwdriver, squeeze the clips on the sides and gently pry out.
I always grab the headlight plugs off every time I go to the junkyard. They always come in handy. When you cut them off the donor car, leave alot of wire in spare to splice into your vehicle.

There is a clip that you need to squeeze in. Then you rotate the clip away, and the light should come out with a little coersion. The first time I did it I had a bitch of a time too. I'll try to scan the shop manual page, to show you pics. You do have to squeeze the sides of the plug.
By the way, that is the best Roxy music album cover, But Avalon was a better album.

Thanks. I have a owner's manual and I see the clip but that after you take off the "wire harness".I can't even get that off! Is there a clip I need to depress on the wire harness too? That makes sense but there is no mention of it and I can't find it on the harness itself. Frustrating.
