I wanna now if anyone in there had tried to remove this ugly metal extention that mazda put at the end of the gearstick of my protegé 2001

It seems to be screwed in, but it's unsrewable.... I don't wanna change the hole gearstick

I think thats part of the rod. Dunno if it was intended to be removed.
