Glad to find you here...

Now, my issue: I have a 2002 Protege LX, 2.0, manual, 76000 km.
I just got the car 3 months ago, at around 72 000 km.
Since then, I didn't really do long trips, but I noticed that if I run the car more than ... lets say 40 minutes (highway or not)
changing gears becomes difficult. I mean the car is getting into gears with no problems, but the stick is moving quite difficult
and you can hear also a " screeech" sound. The problem dissapears if the car is stopped for about an hour...
Anyone has any hint why this is happening?

aw...guys, one more thing....anyone knows how can I put my hands on a owner manual?

 

How does the transmission oil look Bear? Below is a drawing of location of check and drain plugs. Just look on the bottom for drain and side of trans closest to radiator for the check and fill plug. If it is gold in color and takes a 23mm wrench to remove it you found them. Oil level should be just to the check plug hole and maybe dribbling out a bit with the plug removed. A good oil change using 2.8qts of a good 75W-90 sythetic might just fix you right up.

thanks alot man, I didn't check the transmission oil...I will do it soon. I mean I have to change the oil in about 600miles (which I'll do in about 2 weeks),
so it will be the righ moment.
