Default front end shake

Just purchased a 2001 protege lx for my 17 year old daughter. Had a shake in the front that felt like a wheel out of balance or maybe a bent wheel. Once on the highway and up to highway speeds it shook real bad. Mechanic said inner cv joint was the problem, but after replacing joints and moving front tires to the rear the problem is still there. Mechanic also says all looks good in the front end. Any ideas?

Thanks,

JJ

Could be a warped disk brake rotor or dragging brakes causing a warped disk.

Thanks for the input guys. After the cv joint replacement and the rotation of tires, we tried replaceing tires one by one with the spare. When this was done one tire stood out as causing most of the remaining shake. I replaced two tires to start and when that one came off the rim it had a bunch of "fix a flat" all bunched up on one side throwing it out of balance. When I just spun that tire while on the car I did not notice anything wrong. Now, between the new axles and two new tires it rides good. Not the best, but good enough that I am not afraid to let my daughter drive it around town. Couple of more paychecks and I'll put another two tires on and all should be grand.

Thanks Again & till next time,

JJ
