Engine is misfiring
A couple of weeks ago I changed the pugs and wires in my 2001 Mazda Protege 2.0l. Every once in a while the engine seems like it is only firing on 2 cylinders (running real ruff and no power). I have repleced the plugs and wires again to make sure that is not the probelm. It does not happen all the time and only last for a couple of minutes before starting to run normal again. I have taken it to 2 different mechanics and both told me something different. Let me know if you have experienced this before or might know a solution.
make sure that your spark plugs are the exact same ones you need for you car, the soch and the dohc will be diffrent sizes your car manual will tell you the number you need it will say what size spark plugs you need plus a number at the end like a 4 i think is sohc and a p is double but i can't remember, but check that out and if thats all right make sure you gaped them exactly if you go a little over or a little under you can burn out that spark plug i did that on my focus. and if that not it take the spark plug wires and ground them to the frame ( do one at a timebecause your engine has tostart)and start the engine to see if your getting current coming to the spark plugs if you don't have current comeing out of one of the spark plugs your problem could be your ignition coil.
