Default Cooling Fans

I have a 2002 Protege. Both radiator cooling fans go on when I turn the vent to floor only. Even when using heat. When its on vent or vent/floor they stay off. Defrost mode they are both on. This is with the a/c off Is this normal. I would think not

NORMAL. It helps with humidity.

The radiator cooling fans go on. Both of them at the same time when I move the air diverter to floor only. Even with the engine cold. That has nothing to do with humidity inside the car. Why would both fans for the radiator go on when I'm trying to get heat to the floor? Even with the radiator cold.

Heater and defroster are on same side of your control so they may default to the defroster.

They go on when it's in floor only. The next selection in floor/defrost and they stay on there also.
I can't seem to find a wiring print for the radiator fan operation with the floor/vent/defroster selector included or a description operation of how that should work.
