Default cigarette lighter fuse??

I recently bought a mp3 radio adaptor for my car so I could listen to my ipod. I have a Mazda protege 2002. I pulled all the fuses and none were blown (I don't think), there were some missing but according to my manuel there's not supposed to bea fusein those places anyway..It didn't even tell me what fuse was for the cigarette lighter. I'm so confused...what fuse is it, or could it not be the fuse?

The cigarette lighter just doesn't work. Why would I forget to mention that? silly me. The adaptor works in other peoples cars so i know it's not the adaptor.

Default RE: cigarette lighter fuse??

Power to the cigarette light is thru the RADIO fuse in the underdash fuse box. If radio is working then is probably ok. There is also a fusible link on the backside of the lighter socket that can melt if too much current is drawn thru the lighter or is overheated by having the lighter get stuck and not pop out. Suspect you probably have this fusible link melted and a new socket would be needed.
