All kinds of questions about my door locks!
I recently bought a 2002 Protege DX in which the power door locks don't work at all. I don't hear any noise or clicks from the actuators, so I'm guessing there's a problem with the button or wiring. What would be the first thing you'd do to attempt to solve this problem?
I'd also like to know if the vehicle originally came with keyless entry or not because I didn't receive a fob from the owner. How could I find this out?
Thanks.

Do they absolutely not work? I'm assuming the interior lock button doesn't, but how about the exterior (key) lock (driver and passenger)? What happens if you put the interior button in the lock position and try exiting the car with the key in the ignition? Does the door lock pop up to te unlocked condition?
You might like to try using some contact cleaner spray in the driver's door lock area (keyhole, down the stem of the window button), and into the lock switch on the console.
When checking the 30A fuse, don't trust your eyes; do an actual continuity test.
A further point to check is the door hinge cable connector; undo it and give it the contact cleaner spray treatment too. You can pry the driver's side master lock/ unlock button out of the driver's side door with a flat bladed screwdriver and clean and test it and the connector without having to strip the door panel off.
