Air Bag light

Air Bag light
On our 1995 Protege LX the air bag light flashes 6 times, then repeats. Does this indicate that we need to service/replace drivers side airbag module? Just FYI, the horn and the cruise control do function correctly still. I was looking for a break down of airbag codes, OBD codes. etc, but failed to find them using the search function.

RE: Air Bag light
Update: The horn and cruise have since failed.
Judging from what I read here i assume the clockspring has failed; where can i find a replacement? Is it something I can order through autozone, or is this something I'll need to go to a dealer for? how about salvage yards? Will they sell one from a used/ wrecked vehicle even though it's an airbag compenent?

RE: Air Bag light
Doubt that you will find one of these thru Autozone. Salvage yards should sell you one without a problem. Link below to an excellent used parts locating system. Search for Air Bag Clockspring. Was showing them to be in the $20-$50 range. A new one from Mazda dealer will be $145.45 using OE part number bc5a-66-cs0. Also available as a new OE part from www.onlinemazdaparts.com for $116.36 which is not a bad price at all.
