I have a 99 protege and yesterday the O/D off light started blinking on the dash and the check engine light also came on. I had a friend hook up their obd reader which gave me the code PO771. I cleared the code and drove the car for a bit and 10 mins later the O/D off light came on again but this time no engine light. When i turned the car off and then on again the light is gone but I'm guessing it will turn on again when i start driving it. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is and/or how to fix it?
