Just purchased a 98 Protege LX , dealer wants $700.00 to replace rear struts , anyone out there
knows where there is a link to replacement instructions or service manual. I have seen the struts at the local
parts store for $60.00 each and they will loan you the spring compressor for free. Any help would be appreciated.

just curious as to why are you replacing them. is your ride really stiff and bumpy, or is it overloose and bouncy?

 

One is making a strange noise , like it is sticking , and when you push on the rear of the car it bounces about 3 or 4 times.
