Default 97 protege high beam lights

Hi

Could any one tell me how to fix the high beam lights on a 97 mazda protege. When i press on the switch the lights go out. The low lights work fine. Any sugguestions would be greatly appricated or diagrams on how to fix the problem.

Thanks Mike

Would definitely check bulbs first 57chevy. Does the flash-to-pass work? There was a recall on the 95-96 Protege for the headlight switch being replaced. The wires would flex and break as they came out of the switch stalk area. Would not apply to a 97 unfortunately. Fairly easy to check the output wires if you have a test light or meter.

I would ask the question...does the high beam indicator come on when high beam lights not working?
