Car: 1997 Protege with the 1.5L engine

Original belt for the water pump and alternator broke and fell off the car. Tried the list replacement belts from Autozone, Amazon, and Rockauto and none fit.

I double checked that they were for the Alt/WP application and the alternator tension was loose and it was moved all they forward for maximum clearance.

I know that I'll have to find a slightly larger belt to fit it, but I was curious if anyone else out there had encountered the same problem.

I know it sounds crazy, but I tried three different belts all with the same result.
