whats up dude..i have the same car as u actually. if u say u say u checked everything, i wonder if u took it to a professional mechanic. if not, maybe its the starter? remember that it stalled and died while u were drving, so something had to have died. and by the way dude, i saw the pic of ur engine. what is that red spiral thingy? an air filter or intake? looks nice.

the red whire is the plus 12V AMP whire. the intake my friend custom made it for $30 for me, he works at a shop. A professianal came and took a look and he said that its the air sencor on my intake. and i that thats what it was so i changed it long time ago like right after it died and he tells me that my new one is broken too.

Other things to inspect inlcudes a failing fuel pump and a clogged air filter.

screw taking it to a mechanic, I would check the distributor, also the Maf sensor can get dirty and cause the car not to start, what about the iginition coil that could cause the veh to not start again. I dont think the air filter has anything to do with your problem, have you noticed any issues with the alternator, I have them go on my 97 altima while driving and that was the cause. Anyway if you find out what happened post the results.

Have you replaced the timing belt in the past? It is possible it could have jumped time. You will still get spark long as the timing belt is turning the cams. Have you done a compression check? Have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge to see that it is at spec? What color is the spark you are getting? Is it a crisp blue or yellow-ish?

The only way to verify timing belt alignment is to remove the covers to inspect. Rotate the timing belt to TDC and check marks on the cam sprocket. The spark color matters because you can have a weak spark. A weak spark will not spark inside the engine under compression, but will when testing in the open air. Fuel pressure should be ~ 38 psi. Compression should be ~ 180 psi. I have no idea what shops charge per hour in your area to check a no start condition.
