95 protege Transmission fluid change?
i drive a 1995 mazda protege 1.5l automatic
I've had it for 3 years/ put 36k miles on it -I've never changed it (currently has 163k miles)
I'd like to change/flush the fluid in my tranny but im not sure how much i need, type of fluid i need, and i'd like to know the recommended way of changing it, i siphoned some out, it was a dark, similar to mazda on the top left corner of this website.
Should i flush the system, siphon it out, or some other method?
What type of fluid do i need?
How much fluid do i need?

Manual or automatic? They both have drain plugs on them. The manual trans holds 3 quarts and the oil it uses varies depending on where you live. They generally come with ATF but in hotter climates a 5/20 motor oil is better for the bearings. The owners manual should give that info.
