Default 94 Protegee problems, I'm stumped. plz help!

Hi all. I have a 94 prot. lx 1.8. with an idle and skipping when hot problem. Car starts and runs well in the morning (barring an irregular idle, that is persistent) then begins to skip and buck badly as it heats up. Plugs, cap, rotor, wires, MAF sensor and o2 sensor are all new. The parts stores don't have analyzers that are compliant with the age of the vehicle (it has a term, I don't know what it is) so I have no clue what error codes its giving. The engine light flickers and start up after I have replaced the o2 sensor, but goes on and stays on again after a while. Still its an improvement over what it was before I replaced it. Thanks in advance guys. I use my car to deliver for my living, I really need it to run.

It's called OBD I (on board diagnostics 1) and I've covered it in this thread:
https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/maz...ght=obdI+codes

There you can learn how to read the codes and what it means.
Once you have the code report it here. However, I am away from the computer for a few days.

I make it out to be vris #1 solenoid, camshaft position sensor, and coolant temperature sensor.

So there is a whole new set of problems now. The car is stuck in park in a customers parking lot and will not shift. I have noticed that the seatbelt light, parking brake light and hold button light are all out. It was getting dark and the customer was kind enough to let me leave it in his driveway, so I just walked home. Could it be a fuse? Or does the car just hate me. lol

Its common for either the crankshaft or the camshaft position sensor to play up when,
A : its old & B : when hot.
Also what coil setup does your engine have?

Hi Grim, thanks for the info, its a 94 with 164,000 on it so ya, its old. The CEL dosent disturb me as much as it not running. Is the camshaft issue something that will cause the problems I listed? Because Im looking more into the other problems first. Now its popping 15 amp meter fuses left and right.

The cam sensor tells the ECU were each piston is each cylinder, it needs to know for correct fuel injection and possible ignition too.
