can any one help me out with a idle problem? my 94' protege 1.8 dohc when warm or cold (but mostly when warm) will change from 1000rpm to2000rpm. or drop down to 400-500rpm. there seems to be no specific thing that triggers it. it can stay high for some time or just jump momenterly and then down again, some times almost stalls. most of the time it will be around 1500rpm. i tried to adjust the screw in the top near the throttle and it did help to prevent the rpm from going to 2000 and up but it is still very erratic. the check engine lighthas NOTcome on.
also any ideas how to fix the cruise control?the on/off button in the car go's on but i cant set the speed or get it to engage.
