I bought a 2003 Protege at 75,000 km, I am at 150,000 km right now. Since buying my car I have had problems with the back struts and mounts(repaired), the front left control arm and ball joint(repaired) not to mention crv valve or whatever its called. Now I am experiencing low gas mileage.

Anyway I have a problem with low gas mileage currently, I noticed a couple of things, my check engine light came on and was on for about a week or so and went away, also while my car was at a stop my car shook for about 3-4 seconds with the check engine light coming on for those brief seconds, then went away.

Anyway just wondering anyone else here experience this problem with low mileage?

go to autoparts store and find out what code caused the CEL to light up. the codes are in a Pxxxx format
