Default 2003 Mazda protege throttle body issue

I removed my throttle body to clean it because it had a lot of carbon build up and when I installed it again and went to start the car it idled really high at 4K and stayed there and in drive it would stay at 1.5k does anybody know what’s wrong ?

Disconnect your battery for 10 minutes, reconnect the battery, start the car with no loads ( AC, lights etc) see what it idles at.

I hope you used proper throttle body cleaner and electrical parts cleaner around the idle air control valve?

An air leak can cause a high idle because unmetered air enters the engine directly.

Good old school (obd1 or older) thought but OBII (1995 to present CANbus included) prevails ...
This would or should generate (not always) the engine check light or if a scan is properly performed should be seen in one of at least 3 different areas of the ECU/PCM ?
