Default 2001 Mazda Protege ES Question

I have a 2001 Mazda Protege ES 2.0 with stock 195/55/R15 tires on it. I am wanting to get new rims and tires for it. I was going to get a new set of 15" rims with 195/55/R15 tires but thought that it would look better if I got 16" rims with 205/45/R16 tires on it. Will these wider tires fit in the well properly? Are there any other problems that I should worry about with these wider wheels?

P.S. Sorry, this is my first car so I'm pretty new to this kind of stuff.

Thanks!

it will fit in the wheel well, most tires do, its really how you want your car to look with the tires, the maximum they can stick out before its illigal is 1" (inch) cars with the fenders that curve outwards do look better most of the time with wider tires, so again its more of the look. what you just need to watch is that the new rims will clear the brakes if they are disk/caliper but knowing a mazda this won't be a problem
