Default 2000 Mazda Protege ES

Bought a 2000 Mazda Protege ES couple of days back.
The bad news is - I pulled and broke the passenger side interior door opening handle. Tried to super-glue it for the time being but of no use, and the tiny part that is hanging with the wire won't come off.
Looked into the forum and many people are complaining about bad handles in Tributes. Any ideas/suggestions?
Should I buy the assembly via internet and try it myself? or should I take it to a mechanic?

maybe you should have used duck tape instead of super glue

The handle broke in line with the cover - so there is no 'edge' or 'outgrowth' which I can duck tape
Tugging the hanging plastic piece (of the lock) forward opens the door alright - so the locking mechanism is fine.
Called up the local Mazda dealer and they quoted $50 part + $40 labor + tax.
Ordered a replacement for $20 via internet. Let me try some DIY.

But i seriously contemplated using tape.
100 odd bucks for 3 inches of plastic seems too much.

Got a new handle from 1Aauto for appx $20.
Spent 5 minutes to pry out the remains of the old handle, and 2 minutes to fix the new one.
20 bucks, less than 10 minutes vs appx 100 bucks at the dealers - I took the first option!
