1996 Mazda Familia (prodege) Cooling System Problems.
Hi all,
I am having problems with my Mazda familia's cooling system.
I recently replaced the water pump because it was leaking I have also replaced the radiator cap. I thought I had solved the problem of loosing coolant from the system but it has started again, the radiator doesn't appear to have any leaks nor do any of the hoses, the only thing I have found is a split rubber washer that sits in the neck of the radiator under the cap. I was wondering if this would be the cause of coolant escaping from the system?
At this point I don't know if the thermostat is working properly but When the vehicle was operating before this problem the temperature gauge was reading normaly so I don't know whether I should replace it as well.
I would appreciate any advice on this issue.

the thermostat can operate normally and also have a leak best thing to do is start the car have it run and when it reach's normal temp. look at the thermostat see if fluid is leaking, check the water pump. and check the radiator if you still can't find it put a table spoon of pepper staight into the radiator if the leak stops the problem was most likely in the radiator.

Thanks for your input I have actually just replaced the themostat because I could hear it making strange noises, I have run the car since and the symptoms have disappeared so I am now happy and I feel I have cured the problem.
Thanks for your input though.
