I recently lost my keyless transmitter so I have been just using the key. I didn't notice, but somehow my alarm was engaged and when I tried to start the car the alarm went off. Normally, I turn it off with my keyless transmitter which of course is lost somewhere in the ether. I had to pop the hood and pull the battery terminal to shut the damn alarm off. Now, (after reconnecting the battery) I can't start the car- I assume I need to disengage the alarm before it will turn over. What can I do? Can I disengage the alarm without the transmitter? The car is currently sitting in a parking lot so its not even at home, I don't want to leave it there for too long but it seems ridiculous to have it towed when I have the key in my hand. Any help would be GREATELY appreciated, this is really annoying. Thanks.

 

If it is a Mazda factory alarm, and it is working properly, the alarm should disarm when you turn the key to the start position.
