02 protege

i have 02 protege es manual trans when in second gear slowly feels like its studdering .... anyone knows what it could be .... only in second gear slowly

does it grind into second gear? if so it could be the syncro for 2nd gear if it doesn't grind i would think it was the gear itself the teeth are wearing down i guess depending on if the tranny grinds in 2nd gear only
