That looks like a BEAST! I betcha she'll haul! What kinda mileage do you get out of it, if you drive it boringly? Driving hard?

i did some little tricks to it and on a good day being nice to it it would get around 20 mpg. on a better day racing all my buddies and having fun it would get anywhere from 10 to 15 mpg. it was fun i ahd it going last year then my tranny lost 3rd gear so i bought a 67chevy for 700 bucks that needed an engine so i swaped it. i am in the process of rebuilding and engine and tranny and putting in there. i will have to get some more pics of waht it looks like.

small block and t56 thats all you need thats what i'm going to i think i'm going t throw some vortec heads and a FI top on it but thats just for mileage but come on as light as our trucks are. ive got an 81 short wide with a caddy 507 in it i'm sure i can make a b2200 go fast and get good gas mileafe right

Yah if you can keep it on the ground. in my opinion a caddy 500 is just alittle much for a mazda but mabey i am just crazy. i thought a stock 350 was good for a while but now i am going to put a 390 horse 350 in there that will wake it up.

Why not a junkyard LS1 and T56 from a Camaro/Firebird? It would still be plenty light since the LS block is aluminum, and fairly cheap with killer power out of the box.
