Default 93 B2200 Weber Conv Loss of Power

I just installed a Weber 32/36 DGEV and Pacesetter headers with new pipe (2") with Flowmaster exhaust in my 93 B2200 withautomatic trans. Engine runs much smoother now that I got rid of the stock carb. Problem is that my truck lacks torque and power in the bottom end, especially noticable while going up hills. The truck does not sputter at all, its just that the truck revs up higher and sooner without any increase in power. Example, on level ground, the engine rev jumps from 2000 to 3000 at approx 50mph, up hills it'll do it at about 40mph. I have to floor it to get past 60mph and uphills, forget it, I'm lucky if I get past 50mph. My Mazda had lacked serious power before the conversion, however I thought that the Weber and Pacesetter headers would help things. However, to loose power after installing these is a hard pill to swallow. My mechanic warned me that taking out both catalytic converters would cause a loss of power in the bottom end, but I'm hoping this is not the real problem. I had my fuel system checked out, fuel pump working, compression test was slightly low, but not bad. Could this be a transmission issue? Its not slipping, however, the engine revs on the high side withought any increase in acceleration.

HELP!

Default RE: 93 B2200 Weber Conv Loss of Power

Was there a vacume modulator on the trans? It's an overdrive trans right?
There may be a vacume source taht isn't connected.
If it's reving 1000rpms more.. (that's alot)
Well there may be some other issues complicating things.
I don't deal with fords or Mazdas's much at all (just here to find out problems with a friends 2600i p/u, Plus, too many problems)

Did you see if the carbs' secondaries are opening? Is it a 32/36 or 38?
Have someone get in and depress the peddle and see if the secondaries openup. If the cable isn't adjusted right, it could definately give problems.
