ok so im new to the forum, for one. i recently bought an 89 mx-6 its a good lil car dont get me wrong. but i cant find anything for it. nothing like internals, decent headers, etc. anybody know where i can find the things to put a little more pep in this car. thanks.

 

I don't doubt that there is very little left out there for those cars as kits, but I'd bet with a little research you could do some things on your own.
i.e. CAI/SRI DIY kits; universal free flow mufflers and cats from a number of sources, and/or a custom exhaust from a muffler shop. Cams might still be available somewhere. Larger injectors. It is the same engine as the Ford Probes of that era. Hi-energy ignition pieces, spark plugs, etc... You might just need to look around and ask questions, rather than just throwing money at it, but there is always something you can do to older cars.

 

a freind of mine has that same car with the 2.2 in it and he gets all his parts for a ford probe that year so try that and u should be good
