Mazda MX3 V6 technical question
Hi,
I am an automotive illustrator (also an automotive CG artist and automotive retoucher of all things Mazda). I am currently working on an Mazda MX3 V6 illustration project.
Can anybody tell me if any North American variant (V6) ever came with a round of oval shaped "V6" badge located on the side of the car between the front wheel well and the door jamb (I believe the same area where on other models I notice have an amber side light?).
I recall seeing one of these cars many, many years back up close and noticed a badge like I have described (amazed then at the time that such a small compact car would have a V6)?
I have google searched this to no avail so I thought I would post it here for the Mazda experts.
Also - can anybody tell me if the car was offered with fog lights in any trim level?
Thanks for any help in advance.
Cheers,
Peter

Hey Peter!
Just bought a 1992 MX-3, mine is a Canadian domestic model equipped with the V6. It has an aftermarket body kit (Unfortunately) and it has been completely debadged. I have been doing quite a bit of research on how these cars came stock as body kits and debadged cars aren’t really my style. From what I have gathered from my research the Canadian (can’t speak for USDM) MX-3s did not have any badges on the side. Seems it had a Mazda emblem on the hood, a badge saying “mx3” and the oval badge saying “v6” underneath the left taillight and a badge that reads “Mazda” under the right taillight. Here is a link to a Motorweek review of the 1992 MX-3 GS (USDM):
And here is a link to a review of a 1992 MX-3 Precidia (Canadian):
Hope I could help and you can get back to me by replying here or emailing me at jason.simnett@gmail.com
