I got an '92 MX3 1.8 V6
I have this problem. when i turn the key some lights on the panel light up including the 'engine light'. and that's normal and then the engine starts.
well sometimes this 'engine light' doesn't light up on the first click of the key, and so the engine doesn't start.
Anyone has an idea??

 

Need more info really. Does the starter turn the engine over? If not it is probably the ignition switch. You can buy just the electrical portion of it.

 

yes the engine turns over but it stars only if the engine light was previously on

 

Under the hood is a small black box, that is the diagnostic connector. Open it up and put a jumper wire between grd and ten. Turn the key on and count the check engine light flash's if it will even flash. Might be the bulb is bad too.
