Default "cooling fans"

Hi Folks,
I own a 1989 mazda 323 gtx non-turbo, and my question is: My cooling fan does not work--I have tried everything I could to find the problem-with no results. does anyone know what could be wrong.

Thanks in advance.

It'd help us a lot to know what exactly you've tried so far. Is power getting to the fans? Can the fans run when power is applied to them? If your 323 is like my mx3, one fan comes on when air conditioner is on, to add air flow to the condensor. If you turn on a/c, does it work?

Those are close tolerance ducted fans and they also have traded off high running speed for low starting torque, so even a slight interference between the blade and shroud can prevent starting. First, turn the fan by hand and be certain that there is no interference between the blades and shroud. If that's OK, unplug the connector and apply 12V from the battery directly to the fan. If it runs, you have a fuse/ thermoswitch/ circuit issue to sort out; if it doesn't run, your fan is kaput.

Default cooling fan

Thanks--projexladen and oldeng,
The problem was the temp-sending switch that attaches to the thermostat housing unit. Replaced the switch and all is well!
Thanks for your help anyway.
