Hi !! I own a 88 mx-6 turbo5 speed. it runs good, but i came home one night parked the car and tried to start it the next morning and it tried to crank but wouldn't turn over. I tried to jump it, push start it, and still get nothing. my step dad said it might either be the fuel pump or the timing dropped. can anyone help me figure out what's wrong??

 

Remove the steering column cover and check the ignition switch contacts. They were bad about melting or breaking internally. There is no starter relay on those so start there and work your way to the starter.

 

if u havnt found out by now mine did the same andit was the rotor in the distributor
