1992 Mazda MX-3 GS Brake lights
Hello, forgive me if I am not posting in right area or starting a thread that has been done many times over. Noob. I acquired a '92 mx-3 in excellent shape, runs strong even with 188,000 miles. Everything works well except brake lights. Turn, reverse, headlights all work. Brake lights were working then just stopped after I tried the horn. Persons who owned it before "tweeked" on it...I know. Last night I got under the dash, added new ignition hook up wires and the clock came on etc! I found some wires spliced into the brake light switch. I removed them. Green, yellow, red, and purple. On the purple it says "to cold side of brake switch". I now have the green and g/w hooked to brake switch and I'm blowing the fuse to it every time I put a new one in and try it. Any help greatly appreciated. I've replaced all under hood fuses whether they looked good or not.
