Hello everyone and thanks for being here.

I'm not overly experienced in the L3-DVT motor but I am a mechanical fitter turner. The big-ends were toast so got the MPV cheap as chips.

I've stripped the motor and am in the process of cleaning it all up for rebuild. (Crank has been reground etc)

In the sump I found (amongst all the usual bearing debris) a small 11mm (7/16") dia "bobbin" is all I can describe it as.

I have no clue where this has come from and seemingly cannot place it anywhere... I've trolled the engine service manual in depth and I'm at a loss.

Is there anyone here with superior knowledge that can identify this as an engine part, or not an engine part.
