Default Possible power steering issue with 01 MPV causing 2300 coldstart idle, accel surges?

Its thrown a few codes here n there mainly for the downstream bank 2 o2 sensor and catalytic converter. Previously owned by my cousin who was convinced it was a total POS. Im pretty satisfied outside of ****ty gas mileage and this high idle business. When I first got the car I noticed upon cold start the rpms shot up to 2300. In the beginning alls it would take were a couple turns of the steering wheel and it would knock it down to around 3-500. If i tried taking off while the idle was any higher than 1500 Id notice this weird acceleration surge especially while slowing to a stop.... Kinda alarming but still manageable. Now, however, unless I rev it a solid 3 pedal punches it'll idle high for a good 5 minutes before settling down. Its even stalled a few times but only upon exiting the freeway or turning into a parking space. All my troubleshooting initially pointed to the aic which had just been replaced or replacing the o2 sensors which are way too fkn expensive lol.... Recently I read up on some similarities that pointed me in the direction of possibly replacing the powersteering pressure sensor switch but my problem is that I cant fkn find one for my make n model.... I can locate the actual part but once i plug in my vehicle description all the part stores hit me with "this part is not compatible with your vehicle" nonsense! Any advice, insight or explanations out there? Driving me crazy!
update:
Van was running really stiff n bumpy n starting to surge more than usual so I went to O'Reilly n bought a windshield wiper hose and some Lucas power steering fluid with added conditioners (not stop leak) and siphoned the murky black PS sludge out of reservoir (yup the old fashioned way yuck lol) and replaced with the clean clear Lucas and rotated tires. (unrelated... Alignment just felt off like when a tire becomes "pregnant" with one of those bumps) Drove about 45 min down the highway. Lucas was no longer clear but car ran significantly smoother and wasnt idling high anymore. Still felt slightly stiff but seriously improved. Fast forward to this morning: cold start idled at 1800 for about 5 seconds and jumped down after maybe 5 seconds. Drove about another half hour and noticed a slight whirring at a light that sounded like power steering again. Checked fluid to make sure it wasn't low n it was fine. So not entirely fixed but Im more confident in my diagnosis leaning more towards PS vs o2 sensors or aic. Why on earth can't I find a damn pressure sensor switch for it anywhere tho? Does it not have one or is it part of another part n called something different? Any and all input highly appreciated and welcome. Thanks in advance!
