[align=left]HELP! These codes are showing up (P0421,P0431, P0481) on my 2001 MPV -108,000 miles. The P0481 code I believe I can ignore but what about the other two - "warm up catalyst efficiency below threshold (bank 1 & bank 2 )". What does this mean? Is it ok to drive it like this for a while - I know the converters are very expensive - will I cause more damage by driving?

Default RE: P0421,P0431,P0481

the codes are for both upper cat.conv. ( in the manifolds) falling below a preset ratio between front & rear o2 sensors. otherwise theyhave probably failed. they cannot do any more damage to themselves than they already have since the light is already on. i know the cats. are about $700-800 each. the worst that could happen is they could break apart & plug up the rear cat. & then ur paying for another cat too. so? either way your going to want to get them replaced. kinda ur call though
