MPVClub.com forums?

Anyone else having trouble accessing the MPVClub.com forums? I haven't been able to bring them up for weeks now. Here is all I get:

phpBB : Critical Error
Error creating new session

I've tried on several different devices. Is the site dead? There was lots of good info on there for MPV owners. Hope it resurrects.

bruh 04-25-2019 03:14 AM

Not sure what the problem was, but the MPVclub forums are back up and running after being down for several weeks. Hope the problem is resolved. It's a great resource for MPV owners.

bruh 05-02-2022 08:12 PM

Well, the mpvclub.com website worked well for another 2 1/2 years, and then it went down again this winter and still hasn't come back up after a few months. Anyone know who runs the site or if it's gone for good? It was a wealth of info for MPV van owners.

bruh 08-01-2022 05:45 PM

So, it's been months since the mpvclub forum went down again. It may be gone for good, which is a shame because it was definitely the best resource for MPV specific repairs. I've tried to recover parts of the forum from the internet archive, but most of the threads aren't available. Anyone know if there are other ways to access the info? I even tried to track down the site owner to see if I could download the entire archive. As our 06 MPV gets older and encounters a few more problems, I'm seriously considering replacing it solely because my primary repair resource (mpvclub forums) is not accessible.

MPV Club Gone??

I just tried the MPVCLUB website, and I guess it is gone for good. There are no more MVPs being made and our vehicles are getting old in the tooth. I own a 2002 ES with 101,000 miles on it. It is my daughter's now, but Dad has to maintain it. I did download a compressed file from their web site on 02 to 06 maintenance. Steps and diagrams for repairs. I will figure it out and post it here for those who want it. Glad I tuned it up while I could still get the directions.

bruh 10-10-2022 10:47 PM

Would love to see your file on maintenance if you can link it. I wish I had downloaded more info on specific repairs. There were many well informed owners who posted their repair procedures and it was incredibly helpful. In fact, your name looks familiar, did you post on the site? I wish I knew who ran the site to check with them on downloading the whole database for future reference. Hate to see so much knowledge disappear.

Sent a message to suberau asking if he/she knew of the file I told you about. He posted a lot of info on the Forums, so I'll wait and see. Hope you got in.
Yeah, I posted on that site under the same name sense Sep. 2002

bruh 10-11-2022 04:32 PM

WOW! Thanks so much for pursuing this. I've been checking every other month since Feb with no success. I followed your link and was able to get into the full site, and afterwards I was able to reach it using google and a normal query. Prior to this, I would get an error message, that indicated it was an issue that needed to be managed by the administrator. My guess is, the admin no longer has an MPV so doesn't check the forum much so it fell into disrepair. Thanks for re-opening the site for those of us who still have the MPV. Ours is an '06 with 200k miles, but still runs strong and looks good. Plus, right now is no time to be looking for a replacement car because of the high prices. I know it sounds like exaggeration, but this made my day.

bruh 10-12-2022 12:13 AM

So I've been searching around on the mpvclub site, and having no problems entering through your link. Then I tried from another laptop by googling mpvclub and I got this:

phpBB : Critical Error
Error creating new session

Then tried from 4 different browsers, with the VPN turned off, but no luck. Tried to enter the site by copy and pasting your link to another browser and failed. Then I went back to your link and it works. The URL looks identical. What do you suppose is going on? Why can't I access the site through the google link? Do you have a contact for the admin?

Armor01 10-12-2022 10:30 AM

Use my link through Photo Gallery

2 Attachment(s)
Get in through the Photo Gallery (my link), click on "LOG IN", enter your username and password, and then at the top, click on "forums". That is how I got in through google the 1st time. Just got lucky. No answer from anyone at the site.
I do have 168MB of info to post on maintenance. I'll attach a sample and then see how to get it posted. Let's try Troubleshooting

Asked for guidance and permission to post what info I have for others to use. We will see.

bruh 10-12-2022 02:29 PM

Well, today I can't access the mpvclub website at all, not even through your links. Strange and disappointing. Something in the web protocol must be the problem. Are you able to access the site today? Also, thanks for the troubleshooting info. I'll have to print it off and put it in the MPV file.

The Maintenace files that I have, have been downloaded to a google folder for this website to post. So, we will give them time to sort it all out. 406MB in size.

bruh 10-13-2022 02:36 PM

Thanks. Look forward to reviewing them. Do you have contact info for Alex (admin) or Subareu (moderator) at mpvclub? If so, can you send it by private message?

Armor01 10-15-2022 01:40 AM

PM and emails

PM on MPVCLUB is not working. I have 2 to Sub. but they are sitting in the outbox. He doesn't own his MPV anymore (I do remember that much) so he may have moved on. I did see 2 Administrators and emailed one. No listed email address though. I saw one other member in there that posted a message about the web site being dormant since Feb. 22. It is a waiting game now.

bruh 10-16-2022 01:01 AM

That might have been my posting, when I got in the other day. I also sent a PM to Subareu, but who knows if he'll get it. I was able to get into the website again yesterday, so I'll use it as long as I'm able. I noticed the counter on the home page said there were 4 people on the site while I was there. Not sure if that's accurate, but maybe others have figured out how to enter. Hope it stays around as long as I have my MPV. I hate to see repositories of knowledge disappear, and there was lots of good specific and generic Mazda knowledge in those threads.

Hi! I actually was a very active member of the site for years. The people who were running it just kinda stopped and I kept adding to it, but then one day it was flooded with ads and porn links popped up in the forum so it had been tampered with. I reached out to the people running it to say if they needed an active moderator that I would be more than willing to step up. It went down for a while and then came back up, but not long after that more ads popped up. I am thinking the Server people put it on hold until somebody who actually ran it would respond, but after a certain amount of time I guess they took it down. I KNOW its still out there, but unless I can find who to speak too in order to bring it back up, Not sure what to do. I have a 1998 mpv all sport and a 2006 lx and they are both very active. I'll keep trying! If you guys find out anything, let me know I very much do want to get the site back up as I know people still driving their MPV's!

djshotokan 11-07-2023 07:08 AM

I Did find this though, Someone did at least think to put it on here..ITs only in the archived format and they were able to get some stuff but the site went down before it could be archived. If anyone had any emails, Id like to reach out and see if I can get it back up.

I wish you luck in tracking someone down to get it up and running again. I tried, but never heard back form any of the moderators. I was able to enter the mpvclub site through the photo gallery (gallery.mpvclub.com), but it didn't work when I tried it right now. Not sure, but it may be gone for good. When the MPV van was discontinued and the site traffic declined, the financial incentive to maintain the site also diminished. I posted quite a bit in there and I hate to see all my work and others work disappear. My '06 MPV was totaled last year but the mpvclub site is a big part of why I held on to the vehicle for so long. Almost any problem I encountered was documented in there. I liked the mpv enough to consider another one, but with the site gone there's less incentive. I guess the lesson for me is to not waste time posting to niche sites that may not have longevity. I should have posted in this forum instead.

Just found this forum, supposedly signed up/signed in, but not sure that it actually works. I have a 90 MPV 4x4, and LOVE IT! I'd be glad to throw my hand in to help moderate too, should anything come of the efforts to get this back up and going. Been turning a wrench for almost 30 years.

You are in and joined Mazda forum.com not the one that has been talked about in this thread.
You may want to start a thread in the new member area to let everyone know that you are a new member? Not everyone will read this thread about a defuncted Mazda mpvclub now obviously dead or not serviced by the owner.
We have a nice section for Mazda MPV members if you go look.

He's offering to help bring back the MPVclub forum, because it contained vastly more useful information and posts than this site does for the MPV. There will never be a significant body of knowledge about the MPV posted on this site because the model is discontinued. The other site was superior in many ways, and it's sad that it's gone. If it hadn't died, I probably would have acquired another MPV to replace my wrecked one. Nothing wrong with reaching out on an adjacent forum that may attract the attention of someone with connections to the owner of the disabled site. I hope he's successful.

Better do the research. the owner seems to have a banded that forum. Unfortunately, unless the original owner gives the passwords the forum cannot be fully recovered if even a part of it. They are private property you do realize. There is a website that hold a vast amount of information about closed forums. My own forums I was surprised to find about 35%of the years of information and pictures.
You might try Facebook... ;)
