MPV starts balks in both Park and Neutral

MPV starts balks in both Park and Neutral
My MPV suddenly will not start in Park. It did start in Neutral for a few days, but now it balks in both Park and Neutral.
I also get weird dash gear readings. I will have as selected all the gears from N to 1 while driving on D. And so forth, no pattern discernible, just random weirdness.
Any clues?
Is this “diagnosable” though the onboard computer?
