Default mazda mpv headlights

One night while i was driving my headlights went out and then the highbeam indicator light came on the dash. I actually had to turn the switch to high beams in order to have lights. I have checked the bulbs and fuses and just do not know what to do. Please help

check the ground on the inside of the fender drivers side. if the grounds are too badly coroded it can make the lighting do wierd things. like on mine i kept blowing a right indicator lamp. turned out the ground coroded off and there was too much load

I know this is a old thread but I ran into the exact same problem. All I did was check the conection on the switch for the lights. Turns out it was loose. So far lights have worked fine.
