We have a 97 MPV. Going forward there is no noise, everything sounds fine. When reversing there is a loud grinding noise that I thought was coming from the rearbrakes. I had the brakes done because they were due anyway, but itstill makes the noise. I discovered if I let the car roll backwards in nuetral it doesn't make the noise; so it can't be the brakes. I found something on google about the dust cover on the drive shaft was re-designed because they leaked water and could cause the inside bearing to rustand make noises.
