98 mpv won't run

98 mpv won't run

My 98 MPV has spark and fuel. The engine will only run for a second or two before it shuts down. Could the VRIS solenoid have something to do with this? How would I test it to see if it is operating normally?

MAF sensor plugged in? Any codes. It could be a lot of different things from that description.
