I have a 2003 Mazda MPV LX that is throwing a trouble shoot code P0304. Vehicle hesitates and misses when going up hill or torque is needed on an incline or when engine is under load around 2K-3K+ rpm. Start well but idles a little rough.
I replaced the coil, spark plug and spark plug wire on #4 cylinder (well, I think it was cylinder #4 from where I was told). BTW...where is #4 cylinder located?
Also, one of the O2 sensors were changed out sometime last year. MPV has 111K miles.

Hope this helps, M a jcln here, but I have a 6 cyl 3.0 L 1996 MPV and #4 cyl is in the middle on the driver side of the vehicle.
If your engine is sideways, it would be the middle one next to the radiator but I don't know if Mazda MPV's ever put one in sideways-hope not!

 

Thanks! Problem was resolved...we changed out the wrong coil. Hah! I threw in a can of Seafoam for the gas and the MPV runs fantastic with no problems!!!
