Just inherited a MPV with 51K on it bu the Radio /6 CD changer has no power at all. Have no idea when it went out . Anything to check behind the scenes--radio fuse is good--Other than that the minivan is mint. Thanks in advance

The more I see and read about these radio/cds from Mazda it seems that they are prone to natural defects--can someone chime in as what I should --do-try as far as the one in the car now--or just replace the unit-- and if replacement is the way to go any recommendations for a unit that I won't pull whats left of my hair out puttin in that won't send me to the poor house-Chris

The RADIO or AUDIO fuse should really only be powering up the rear speaker subwoofer ChrisR. The fuses that will cause the radio/CD itself to not power up would be the 10 Amp ROOM fuse and 15 Amp CIGAR fuses. If these two are also ok then may well have an internal failure. ebay is a good place to look for an OE replacement that will not break the bank.

I checked both fuses and they were good. The lighter works fine.LOL. When I pulled the Cigar fuse with the IGN on I heard a relay click. Now I'm just considering that wouldn't MAZDA seeing as they charged big$$$ for this PKG put a smaller amp "inline-fuse" closer to the radio or even inside of the unit in case of a surge . Is there anyone out there who has access to some electrical schematics for this problem. Downloadable or otherwise.Any and all answers will be most welcome and appreciated----2000 --ES-

thank you baby Huey. My subwoofer was not working and the guys at the shop said it won't work with my after market CD player. right. All it took was a fuse. I had assumed that "Audio" meant the radio/cd player. But no. They really should indicate this in the manual.

Thank you, babyhuey! The radio/CD player on the Mazda MPV 2003 just stopped working, along with the remote unlock, and the overhead lights. I had checked the Audio Fuse and the Cigar fuse and the Door fuse.
Nothing. Read your recommendation to check the Room fuse, and sure enough, that was it. Who knew? A few dollars (well, $18, since we got an entire box of various replacement fuses) and everything worked immediately.
