04 mpv Rough idle please help!!
Hey all,
just bought a 2004 mazda mpv. Bought it not running for 400. Main wire harness was chewed through by a mouse. So we replaced the harness. Had a very rough idle, so my husband and I installed new spark plugs and coils, made sure to gap the plugs. Air filter, oil change and oil filter, changed tranny fluid, new alternator (which was a nightmare BTW), amd mew battery. Still idles pretty rough. We're in the middle of repairing suspension parts too so I can't test drive it at the moment, but before we put up on jack stands it drove fine until it stopped at idle. Any suggestions of possibilities I can try for the idle?
has 240k miles.
p.s. passenger airbag off light is on. How do I turn that back on??
thank you in advance for any suggestions. I'll be sure to make a final post once the issue is fixed.

No one replied with any suggestions, however, I still thought I would reply with the outcome just in case anyone else is looking for the same answer. I found a video of someone who used throttle body/carb cleaner, and sprayed in different areas around the intake manifold and egr valve to cjeck for leaks. If you have a leak, the engine will rev up in rpm for a few seconds, indicating a bad gasket. Ours revved up when we sprayed the gasket for the EGR Valve, so we bought the gasket (a whopping $3) and that solved our issue. No more rough idle!
