Where's the starter at on 1999 Mazda Millenia? Is it easy to get to?

 

The starter for both the 2.3 and 2.5 engines is on top of the transmission and slightly to the rear. Replacement is no difficult once you have remove the air cleaner housing and battery w/ tray. 2.3 engine you will also want to remove the rear charge air cooler duct. Is the starter not turning the engine overthe reason why you are looking at replacement for the no start condition?

 

Well, it wasn't the starter, it was the timing belt, and a few other things. About $800 worth
