Default Solved: 2.5 high oil usage and blue smoke starting cold

Have a 1995 2.5 Millenia with 240K miles on it. Bought it with 188K in 2007. Oil consumption was 1 qt per 1200 miles using 10-40 valvolin dura blend. Changed the oil every 5-6k miles. Lots of free way miles. Oil consumption increased to 1 qt per 500 miles. Then started to get a miss fire code cyl 6 and rough running after 2 hrs driving on free way. It would clear up after driving in town for a few days. Finally eating oil 1 qt every 400 miles and low compression in cyl 6. Did compression test, 60 psi, added oil to cyl & retested, it went to 100 psi. Did a kerosene flush of the engine (info on the internet on how to do this for Ford Probes and Millenia 2.5s) and added some (not too much, afraid of hydraulic locking) kerosene to cyl 6 to sit over night. Boy did it smoke blue and blow smoke in the mornings, but the compression came back and the smoking got better over the next 1-2k miles and the hydraulic liters got quiet (they could have been sticking). Went to a 10-30 Quaker State oil and changed it in 1500 miles. Used 1 Qt in 900 miles and in the last 600 miles it has stopped the morning smoking and has not used any oil. Thought the engine was dead, hard to believe it is back to smooth running, lower oil consumption and 23-26 MPG.
