Rotor removal on 96 Millenia
Rear pads need replaced on my 96 Milly S but the rotor won't come off. Is there something that holds it in place. I don't have a manual to refer to.

yup. emergency brake shoes
Keninn, I don't understand how the emer. brake is preventing removal because the brake isn't applied and the rotor will freely turn. Can you give me an idea what I need to do? Thanks
this is really difficult to explain without pictures. the reason the rotor wont come off is because the brake shoes have a "ridge" they have to clear. over time, this ridge gets higher as the metal is worn from use. there is-or there should be, a rubber plug on the outside part of the hub. remove this, and place the hole in the 12 oclock position. now, here is the tricky part. behind that hole will be an adjuster. you need to turn the adjusment wheel with a screwdriver, and this will loosen the brake shoes. i forget which way to turn the wheel, i think down. you need to get hold of a repair manual, and see a picture, then it all makes sense.
