How to bleed the coolant for a mazda millenia 1998 S ?
Hi guys, Does anybody know how to bleed the coolant for a mazda millenia 1998 S ? I will appreciate any help. I'm having problems refilling the coolant in my car.
it helps to have the front of the car higher than the back. fill the coolant resevoir, then squeeze the upper hose several times to burp it. make sure the coolant level is at least at the high mark. then you have to check the level every time it goes thru a heat cycle(start, reach operating temp, cool down). it will take a couple three times to stabilize
thank you, I will try it tomorrow. My friend told me that I should look for the air bleed bolt which is located on the thermostat housing. What do you think about it? Thank you in advance.
well, i would say yah, look REALLY hard. if you find one, let us AND mazda know. you will be the first to find one. oh, and ask your friend if he has ever SEEN a millenia, and if he even know what a miller cycle motor is.
Thanks Keninn for your advice. I knew he wasn't sure what he was talking about because he asked me if the millenia was similar to the mazda 626.
no, have the cap off, motor cold. squeeze the hose fairly rapidly several times, you will hear the coolant sloshing, and the level will go down(if there is air in the system). since the upper hose is almost the same level as the resevoir, it will help if the front of the car is higher than the back.
Hi Keninn, it's me again. I did as you told me about refilling the coolantin my millenia, it took4 times to stabilize the coolant in the resevoir, I think there's no more air in the system, but the temperature gaugewent on more than normal, around 3/4 every time thatI refilled the resevoir, what should I do now? Thank you in advance.
Yes I did, i bought a new thermostat and thermostat gasket $38.00 from the dealer. I just wanted to put new coolant in my car. It wasn't low.
