Hi!

I recently bought a Millenia 1996. The main issue is that I do not know how to switch off the alarm once I set it off. Its happened twice already and I am totally clueless about it

1. The other day I parked my car and pressed the security switch so that the security light comes on. The I closed the door. I forgot to take my cell phone, so had to open it again. For some reason, the key would not open the driver side front door. So I opened the trunk and then squeezed past the opening in the back seat to unlock one of the rear doors. The moment I did this, the alarm started to honk and flash. It did this for around 5-10min before it turned itself off Is it possible to switch it off manually ?

2. I did not get a remote with my car. Is there a remote system already in place and can I buy a remote for this car from ThePartsYouNeed.

3. Any suggestions with where to start with the problem about not being able to open my doors with my key ?

4. I also want to make a duplicate key. The Mazda dealership is asking for $78 - can I get it for less ?

try the key in the passenger side, if it dont work there, most likely the po got a new key/tumbler just for the ignition. when the alarm goes off, if you put the key in the ignition, it should stop. you can get a key blank off ebay, dunno who can cut it, maybe only the dealer. you can also get used remotes off ebay, and then program them to your car. just make sure you get the correct remote, the 2001 my and later will not work.
